LoreSync Privacy Policy
LoreSync is a free Chrome extension that translates web novels and comics using your own Gemini API key. We don't run servers that process your data, and there are no accounts.
What we store, and where
The following stays only in your own Chrome browser (the extension's local storage). It is never sent to us:
- Your Gemini API key
- Your settings (interface language, target language, model, theme, etc.)
- Cached translations of paragraphs and comic pages, so the same page isn't translated twice
- Words or sentences you save
- Your own glossary of names and terms
Some cached data is kept only until you close the browser. Removing the extension deletes all of it.
What leaves your computer
Only one destination: Google's Gemini API.
- When you use AI translation, the text to translate is sent to Google Gemini together with your API key.
- When you use comic translation, the current screen or comic image is sent to Google Gemini to read and translate it. We ask for your consent before the first use.
- To read comic images, the extension downloads them from that comic site's own image servers (without your login cookies).
Google's handling of this data is covered by its own terms: https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms and https://policies.google.com/privacy. If you use a free-tier key, Google may use the content to improve its services.
If you choose "local translation", Chrome's built-in translator does the work on your computer and nothing is sent to Gemini.
What we don't do
- We don't collect your name, email, or any account information
- We don't track your browsing, and use no analytics or ads
- We don't sell or share your data
- Your API key goes only to Google, never to us
Website
loresync.app uses no analytics and no tracking cookies.
Donations
Donations through Ko-fi are processed by Ko-fi and its payment providers (such as PayPal) under their own privacy policies.
Children
LoreSync is not intended for children under 13.

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
